Conversations for Exploration are a brilliant starting point to help you listen and understand, making simple (but incredibly effective) changes to leading your 1-2-1 meetings.

Here's a quick guide to getting the most from your Blueprint...

  • After downloading, open the Conversations for Exploration guide, have a quick scan through to get familiar with the questions
  • It's fine to have a prompt sheet with you in the meeting, this shows you care and have prepared.
  • After you've asked each question - wait. Be prepared for your colleague to be silent and take time to think.
  • Resist the urge to fill in the space!
  • Think about how you'd like to record ideas and reflections - do you want to keep a shared document with your colleague, or, how would the conversation change if you both had flip chart paper and pens to create a mind map?
  • At the end, you may both want to agree on the most insightful reflections, or unanswered questions.
  • Set a time and date to circle back and review your ideas for decision and action.
